During dinner, we all expressed thanks for being together on for Thanksgiving, and also our appreciation for the gracious help from the Fairfield Inn and Jen for stepping up to save our Thanksgiving as part of "Team Turkey", the name for those of us involved in this effort!

Because he had to perform surgeries that morning, he called me at the hotel to pick up the dinner and take it to his temporary residence. When I picked up the meal, I learned everything had to be heated (not a problem!) but when told the turkey needed to be cooked for 90 minutes in the oven....now that was a PROBLEM, because we learned upon arriving at our host's temporary residence, there was a toaster oven, a microwave, but definitely NO OVEN!
I have been a longstanding member of the Marriott family and this experience has truly solidified my loyalty and love of this brand.
Staff was friendly, place was clean and well lit, breakfast was decent, the heated pool was working and there was a hot tub. Local Marcos pizza delivery was fast! The other guests coming and going seemed in good spirits. Saw lots of dogs staying the night so they must be pet friendly. The dogs were all well pampered so it had us wondering if there was a dog show nearby. The more times we try other places, the more we appreciate Fairfield. They're quickly becoming our favorite place to stop on family road trips. Our biggest complaint about the last location (Clarksville) was they ran out of bananas. Friendly staff there too. It's worth spending a few more bucks to stay somewhere nice and clean and friendly, and not the shady Days Inn where the room door doesn't latch shut.
The Fairfield Inn in Marion has gone through a lot of changes for the better in recent years. I've stayed here on occasion through the past 5 years and as of recently, it is a great place to stay. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and in great working order. The breakfast is a nice start to the morning, hot and fresh, with a nice variety. The staff is friendly and take care of anything they can to make your stay comfortable and refreshing. The workout facilities are in good condition and offer a nice touch to the overall stay while in Marion. In the lobby area, the business center offers a nice space to jump online to check emails, get local information, and print up anything that you may need during your stay.
Being a loyal Gold Elite Marriott member, I decided my only option was to call the hotel and ask if they could assist us. I did so and explained our problem to Jennifer ("Jen") who was working their front desk. Because the hotel prides itself on being a full service hotel, and because it was Thanksgiving and we had no way to cook the turkey, Jen said to bring the turkey to the hotel. When I delivered the turkey to Jen (with help from one of our family guests), the oven had already been set to temperature to 350 degrees. Jen simply placed the pan in the oven, and called my cell phone when the 90 minutes recommened cooking time was done.
A nice Marriott property to stop at when on a road trip. It's quiet and the free breakfast is quite a pleasent freebie to enjoy. The rooms are clean and staff quickly responses to any concerns.
I cannot find the words to express the incredible experience that I had at this hotel. In particular, I wish to acknowledge Jennifer ("Jen"), who works at the Fairfield Inn front desk who SAVED our family's Thanksgiving Dinner. A number of us traveled to Marion IL to celebrate this holiday and our host had catered the dinner.
The market also has a variety of snacks and beverages to enjoy when you don't feel like heading out in the middle of the night! The location is convenient to the highway, great food, and the nearby shopping mall in Marion. Even when the hotel is busier, parking doesn't seem to be a problem either. Overall the Fairfield in Marion is a great value when traveling through Southern Illinois.
One of the best Marriott locations I've ever been to. Isn't a very nice town and staff are incredibly friendly and the rooms are incredibly clean it has an indoor swimming pool and a great happy hour. Couldn't ask for much more. Would definitely recommend to anybody staying in the area.
