I called these guys last week after a tree fell and ripped the power line off my house. At first I thought just the weather head needed replaced and he shot me a price of $166.00 which was parts plus two hours of labor. Two guys arrived at my home about 30 mins after I called which I thought was pretty good. The guys were nice took a look at my problem and told me the mast needed replaced along with the weather head and the wire that runs from the service box to the head. OK...no problem right just a little more in parts but it wont take much longer to cut the mast off and screw the new one on..it is after all one piece of threaded pipe. The work was done asap and it didn't really take two hours since they spent almost 45 mins running to the parts store.....but ok... I'll pay the two hours labor. a few days later i got the invoice in the mail....and almost died when i seen the total. $508.00 was the new total for the work done. The invoice wasn't broken down at all it just had two numbers... $148.00 for parts and $360.00 for labor. Confused....I called them up and asked for help understanding why it was so much. I was ok with the total for parts but the labor.....$360.00 for two hours...Really??? The guy I talked to...who I expect was the owner told me that it was $72.00/hr PER GUY. I told him that I didn't request two guys to come out and he did that on his own. He told me that it was a two man job because they don't want one guy on a ladder by himself in case something were to happen. One guy did tall the work at my house while the other stood on the ground talking to my neighbor and making jokes with the guy working. The owner wouldn't do anything about the total and told me I'd just have to pay it. I'll pay the bill.....but I wont be using these guys again and i wont be recommending them to any one. There are plenty of other electric companies in So. IL that will treat their customers better and not surprise you with a giant bill after they quote you one price.
We just had a small repair but they did a great job. They were here the next day after we called, did exactly what we asked and even cleaned up! Plus the price was very affordable. We will definitely call them again.
